I just installed this system in my home. Works pretty good. So far, I can monitor the system on my android smartphone is I am home and connected to my wireless router. What I have not quite figured out yet is how to monitor the system on my phone away from home….kind of getting a runaround between tech support and my cell phone provider…no one seems to know how to do it.

If anyone has been able to successfully do it, pls share, thx.

I have the Model #67139 But I seem to have a problem with it. I just installed it and am using a computer monitor with it. First let me say I am not very good with these types of things. My problem is when it is on, the record light is always on, I did record about 3 times but when recording the record light flickers but recorded, but now I cant get it to record at all. I would appreciate any help someone can give me on how to make things right. Thanks

Look in your technical guide and contact the technical hotline for the system. It is located in the installation instructions. If you find out how to view the system online from a remote location away from your security system, let us know.

You know how to get it working with Android?

You need to port forward as irambach said, but to do that you need a static IP, most internet providers give you dynamic IP addresses, ie they are always changing. If you want to port forward you need to have a static IP. then you will be able to have remote access where ever you want.

what u need is a private address. You will need to contact your ISP to find out how to get a public IP address. once you have that then configuring the router to forward traffic. here’s the idea “dyndnscommunity . com/questions/426/how-do-i-access-my-device-from-outside-my-home-net.html”

Port forwarding can be tricky but it is not done through the security system DVR itself. The router needs to be configured to allow port forwarding. Major manufacturers should have these instructions available for you. For instance Google Netgear port forwarding and the directions come right up.

I dont really know how to rate this system. I bought one for the house….works great but the one I bought for the garage sucks and broke. It only has a 3 month warranty unless you buy the extended warranty. Tech guys said new hard drive is $79.00 and 2 months to get back from repair. I would suggest purchasing a different system rather than this “Clunker Hill” system. $300 for a 3 month warranty…..I am very Fing pissed that mine broke and cannot return it to harbor freight.

Another thing the manual that came with the system SUCKS. I had to call all around the world and speak to folks in India and China to get any help. They were no help at all. Finally the tech guys helped that were located in California. Would highly recommend you purchase from a different manufacturer other than harbor freight and bunker hill ..oh I mean Clunker hill.

Happy to share… They tell you you need a fixed IP…This is utter fiction. DDNS like no-ip.org (a free dynamic dns service) solves that problem… Anyway, port-forward port 9000 to the IP of the DVR internally. That’s it. No need for port 80, which most ISPs block anyway… I use Robert Chou’s IP Camera Viewer on the android phone, using the Swann preset. (had no luck with the recommended android app, ‘asee’)
    Hope this is helpful.
